Project announcement, fabric requirements, & fabric choices.
Since we had pretty bad internet today we took a recording of the Live Stream, this should be a lot better quality than when we were actually Live.

This is another fun project that can be made in a day! Great as quick gifts or as a trick-or-treating bag for the little ones! The way I put this together is a take on the hotdog/burrito pillowcases that we all love. You can find the cutting guide (and fabric buying guide) on our website: www.cindybeesquiltshoppe.com/videos Things we used: Pellon Featherweight fusible interfacing PEL911FF Olfa ...

I seen another lady use tissue paper under the shelf liner and it didn't stick to the machine. She just taped it and started sewing

I seem to be the only person who doesn’t understand how to finish the binding. The video looks like it’s a raw edge backing stitched to a raw edge placement. Is the binding turned under somewhere? Does the binding overlap the placement edge?

Great instructions. What fiber content is the best for placemats? Do you prewash your fabric?

Love the corners. Also, loving the placement with the leaves on it. I couldn't make out what you used to decorate the binding. Was it a decorative colored trim you were adding to it? It's a little hard to see what you're working on. My brother is a professional photographer. I think he would suggest thst you add some better lighting to the subject. Great video and thank you so much for showing us how to do those fantastic corners.

Dear Cindy, Thank you very much for this wonderful tutorial! I’ve made so many sets of placemats using your method. It works well for binding mini wall quilts, too. 🌻

I’m having a hard time seeing (my vision, not the videography) when you sew the corner that you have opened and trimmed. When you do that diagonal stitch to close the corner, is the Binding folded or still unfolded ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ditto all below. Have tried many methods of using the backing as a binding for the front. This method is excellent. Kudos on the instructional value. Nothing left out and done at a pace that is easily understandable. Thank you so much.

Great gift idea! I use a sewing machine needle in place of where you used a sewing pin to help get tight angles moving again. It’s sturdier and won’t bend. 😊

13” x 17” front & finished size 17” x 21” for backing which is also the binding (13x17 batting) totals = 1/2 yard of batting, front or main fabric and backing or backing fabric

I write my measurement s down in my notebooks so I can go back and have them at hand . My internet goes down and I can't always get on my computer to watch the video.
